As far back as 1978, the historical centre of Venice even saw the cyclists of the Giro d’Italia dart! 1907 is the year of birth of one of the oldest sports clubs in Italy, Venezia Calcio . The soccer team boasts illustrious past matches in the premier league Serie A, a victory in the “Coppa Italia”, and currently plays in the Serie B championship. Sant’Elena Stadium hosts the home games of Venezia Calcio and guess what? It overlooks the lagoon! The foundation of the Reyer Venezia company dates back to 1872. The basketball team boasts the victory of three league titles, the last one won in 2017, and the 2017-2018 FIBA ​​Europe Cup.
