The Venice Biennale Foundation is organizing the 53rd International Art Exhibition titled Fare Mondi – Making Worlds, curated by Daniel Birnbaum from Germany.
Daniel Birnbaum is rector since 2001 of Staedelschule Frankfurt / Main (Germany) and its exhibition space Portikus, academy that combines the teaching of contemporary art with experimentation and creative research.
The exhibition presents approximately 99 artists from around the world with works, including site specific ones, and new productions created for this exhibition.
The new Padiglione Italia overlooks the Giardino delle Vergini, where a new entrance to the public – via bridge – connects the garden to the Sestiere di Castello.
Sites of the Exhibition:
The Biennial Gardens and the large spaces of the Arsenale, renovated for art, and in the city. Other exhibition sites in the historic center of Venice host the participation of countries without pavilions and other events organized within the Exhibition.
